Are you planning a wedding, and want something unique to entertain your guests during cocktail hour? Or maybe you’re planning a company event or awards ceremony, and want something a little bit different? I’m Megan, and I’m a live illustrator. What that means is I will draw portraits in real time that your guests can then take home with them on the day (with the added bonus that they make perfect favours!). I work using alcohol markers, which means there is no drying time and no concern that the illustrations will smudge or transfer.

  • Are you having a wedding with a theme, and would like your illustrations to tie in with that? No problem! Maybe you’re having a Til Death themed wedding and want your guests illustrated as skeletons. Or maybe you’re getting married around Halloween and would like your guests to be drawn wearing Halloween costumes. Or maybe you’re having an enchanted forest themed wedding and would like your guests drawn as fairies. Just let me know - I’d love to work with any weird and wonderful ideas! There’s no additional cost for themes, either - you just need to let me know what you’d like.

FAQs

How does it work?

I attend your event with my full setup, including a camera to take photos of your guests. This means I can continue working during your wedding breakfast, meal, or meeting, and maximise the number of illustrations I can get done during your booking. I will ask each person/couple for their name/names to be added to the piece, so they can be easily identified. Once complete, each illustration will be pegged up on my table ready to be collected.

How many people can you draw?

On average, it takes me 7 minutes to complete an illustration of a single person, or 10 minutes for a couple. This means I can draw roughly 9-12 guests per hour. This can vary depending on complexity and number of people in the illustration (for example, a family of four will take much longer than a single person!). When booking please keep your guest count in mind, as booking 3 hours for an event of 100 guests will result in a lot of disappointed people.

What do you need to set up?

I bring my entire setup with me, all I need is access to a plug socket. If your event is taking place outside, please ensure there is a suitably shaded area for me to work. Nobody wants their illustrator to get sunstroke!

What will you wear?

Typically, I will wear all black to an event. If you have a specific colour scheme/style you would like me to adhere to, please let me know.
